| As a result of over a
decade of successful GIS and Remote Sensing projects, GRS has developed
specialized applications and utilities to extend the capabilities of GIS and save valuable
time. GRS Software:
Microstation & MGE Utilities
MapInfo Utilities GRS has developed dozens of applications for the automation and enhancement MapInfo. Our client applications include Forestry, Mining, Geologic Exploration, Oil Spill Response, Municipal Planning, Utilities, and Transportation.
Densitometer Data Collection and Analysis Software The Densitometer is an inovative tool for the unbiased sampling of land cover densities. Our customers use the Densitometer for vegetation assessment, soils, and ground cover evaluation for a variety of applications. To enhance the utiltiy of the Densitometer, GRS has developed data collection and summary software. These applications allow the user to enter data collected with the Densitometer directly into a hand-held or portable computer.
Image Processing and Classification Software GRS has developed specialized algorithms and applications to enable the extraction of complex features from digital imagery. The most noteworthy processes GRS has developed for image processing include GRS_polysum and GRS_aggregate. These two processes are instrumental in the processing of image class maps and the aggregation of large scale raster data into smaller scale vector-based polygon databases. Custom Program and Application Development Most applications require custom software to effectively use the generic capabilities of a GIS for client-specific applications. GRS has developed applications for forest inventory, resource modeling, wildlife habitat classifications, and stream flow and sediment load analysis. Forestry Applications GRS developers have been creating forestry applications for over 20 years. Our forestry applications involve a broad range of automation and analytical tasks to assist foresters in resource management. Some examples of our development for Forestry include:
