Ridgefield Events Neighborhood Problems and News:
Now that neighbors of Ridgefield Events located at 2242 Fickle Hill Rd have experienced more about how the County Planning Department and Planning Commission work, based on the recent Planning Commission Public Hearing of September 4, 2025 this site will be following Ridgefield Events use and subsequent modification of their Conditional Use Permit that allows them to operate on their previously rural-residential property that many now consider a commercial property.
Currrent Status - The proposed modification PLN-2025-18885MOD1 was approved by the minimum quorum of the Planning Commission (PC) by a 4-0 vote. After PC's discussion that was basically only about how to make the modification work better for the neighborhood in light of the 18 submitted complaints to the modification versus one supporting letter, the PC modified the proposal to:
1. Maintain the number of events at 30 events;
2. Increase the maximum number of guests to 150;
3. Allow up to 3-day event associated overnight stays on the property for up to 14 guests; and
4. Allow only one amplified event on weekends (Friday-Sunday) on which overnight stays occur.
